Brimstone Horrors of Tzeentch - Flame on and paint quick!

Steve here with some finished Brimstone Horrors of Tzeentch. These are new models that can be found in both the Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower and in a box set with Blue Horrors.

In the fluff, Pink Horrors are the jovial automatons of Tzeentch, and when they are dealt a mortal wound, they split into two Blue Horrors which are much more vindictive and spiteful. When these Blue Horrors are mortally wounded, they split into two Brimstone Horrors. This is new to the fluff as of the Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower release of 2016.

With each Pink Horror producing two of these models, we have the likelihood to be painting two of these bases for each of the Pink Horrors you use, with two painted Blue Horrors in between. That means that we need an efficient way to paint these guys.

Below is the process that I went through. It mirrors Games Workshop's February 2017 White Dwarf Magazine of a reverse highlight, which is what I do for all of my Horror flames.

Love Painting Pink Horror Skin and Burning Chariot WIP - 'Oh, the Horror!' Day 5

Oh, the Horror! week is wrapping up. I wanted to get some last posts up showing painting progress on my Herald of Tzeentch riding the Burning Chariot and show off the painting steps for Pink Horror skin. I will create a tutorial once this is complete. This piece is very important to me because it marks the 47th model I have painted this year. I only completed 46 models in all of 2016 and beating that number in April of 2017 fills me with pride. I have Squaduary to thank for a lot of that. Also, the shot in the arm from Kaptain Von speaking about arm's reach painting.

Horrors of Tzeentch and Chariot Painting WIP Oh, the Horror! Day 4

Steve here, I hope that you have had a great holiday weekend if you celebrate. Tonight I wanted to show you a set of WIP for Oh, the Horror! week as I build a detailed painting guide for my Herald of Tzeentch on a Burning Chariot and more Pink Horror models.

Let's get started with progress on the Burning Chariot.

Horrors of Tzeentch - 25 years of evolution - Oh, the Horror! Day 3

Steve here, In today's post about Horrors, I want to look at how the rules for Horrors have evolved over the last 25+ years. I love going back through the rules to find where these models were in the minds of the developers in the past and to see how things have changed over time.

Horrors drew up a minor uproar when the new split mechanic with Brimstone Horrors came about last year. This does not seem to have been too much of an issue. How did we get there? Let's take a stroll down memory lane!

Blue Horrors of Tzeentch Oh, the Horror! Day 2: Petty Automatons

Pink Horrors are the Lesser Daemons of Tzeentch. They are described as gleeful, and sing and dance as they make their way up the battlefield. They will kill you, but will do so with a happy demeanor. These creatures are tough to completely kill - when they are finally destroyed, they split into two halves, which shape themselves into smaller Blue Horrors. Unlike the Pink Horrors, Blue Horrors of Tzeentch are vindictive, vengeful, and petty.

Please have a look at a completed set of 14 Blue Horrors after the jump for Oh, the Horror! Day 2.

Pink Horrors of Tzeentch Oh, the Horror! Day 1: Happy Automatons

Steve here, and I have been looking forward to this moment. This is the first day of a group of Horror-themed posts that should carry through for the week or so. I call it - Oh, the Horror!

This is day 1 of this set of posts, the completion of a group of 10 pink horrors!

Future days will include blue horrors and the new brimstone horrors, as well as painting guides for each.

I will also be tracking the history of the horror and look at their rule changes over time to get a feel for what horrors truly are in the world of Warhammer 40k.

So, please enjoy a week of horror at Fortress Erioch!
