Increase awesome with vehicle damage tables

I look forward to posting a final #Squaduary update in the next few days. In the meantime, I wanted to talk about some homebrew rules that take us back to a flavorful time - 2nd edition 40k!

I am always looking for ways to improve our game and hobby through looking at the great ideas in other games and previous editions. Highlighting these are a priority for this blog.

In this example, I will be looking at the Leman Russ Battle Tank. This set of rules should apply to all variants.

#Squaduary Update - So Many Unique Models. Spread that Love!

A lot going on to start this week with painting. Sadly, I am slightly delayed on week 2 of our #Squaduary challenge from Stepping Between Games (link). The flu got me.... I will be combining posts on week 2 and week 3. Being a teacher and a natural rule follower, I have been stressed out about not making the deadline for week 2. I will strive to improve!

Here is what is on my table:

#Squaduary - Dark Angels 10th Company: Update 1

Dhrakk's #Squaduary update post #1. Decent progress has been made this week, which includes applying a base coat to each model. These will definitely look better once washes / layer paints are applied (they look really flat to me right now)

#Squaduary Update - Can Wraithblades look too awesome?

Spoticus here with my week 1 update for #Squaduary (link) from Stepping Between Games. This has been a busy week, and I would like to be a day or two ahead of where I am with posting about my progress. At first I was concerned that these Wraithblades looked too stylized (read: awesome) to match the ghost warrior slowly advancing up the field, but apparently these warriors are unlike their wraithguard brethren in the fluff.

My goals for this week are to create a squad of Wraithblades and a squad of Iron Warriors. I might have a few last minute builds tomorrow before week one runs it's course.

Behold the mighty Klaivaulch!

Can 8th Edition be Streamlined and More Diverse? Hope!

Many of the news sites I follow for our hobby have writers and supporters that have expressed the desire for a simplification or streamlining of Warhammer 40K for 8th edition.

They are clear that they do not want another Age of Sigmar, but the current rules are so bloated that parts need to be simplified or cut.

Streamlining Warhammer 40K for 8th edition can be a good thing, as long as they work to diversify rules and mechanics to fit more within the world they have created in fiction.

In 8th edition, this is what I would like to see:

Spotlight - Fun with the Game - Rules for Deadpool in 40k

The Premise:

The Imperium comes across a Xenos planet that is populated, but some have exceptional powers. The Imperium decides that the planet is worth bringing into the Emperor's Light, but these mutants and abominations must be eliminated first.

Slowly, I will build up a group of models from Knight Models (link) for painting purposes. Why not use them on the tabletop for a non-serious game from time to time?

Want a painting guide for this Deadpool model? I created one here (link).

The Rules:

I started with the rules sheet for Deadpool that came with the model (model link). I also used started with some stats from the Officio Assassinorum Codex.

Here is what I came up with - let me know what you think. Remember - this is for fun and suggestions are welcome.
