Hive Fleet Leviathan Skin Tutorial - A quick approach!

Steve here, ready to show you a quick take on Games Workshop's style of painting Hive Fleet Leviathan Skin. With this strategy, I was able to paint up the skin on 10 gargoyles within an hour or so - maybe two when you take into account drying washes. Overall, this was very easy.

This really worked out for me because I have a horde of Tyranid models to paint, while at the same time I collect multiple armies. If you are in the same boat, you might be looking into ways to paint a bit faster. This should work on any splinter fleets of Hive Fleet Leviathan.

Land Raider Terminus Ultra - Tactics and Comparisons

I was really excited to see the Land Raider Terminus Ultra in the Imperium Index 1. It is a whopping 30 Power Level and at *updated* 400 points, filling a lord of war slot. I bought this Terminus Ultra Job Lot a couple of years ago. Now I have a reason to revive this mistreated hero.

How can we make this lord of war worth the points? How does it compare to the awesome Predator Annihilator or a Knight Paladin? Let's also take a look at how to fix up this model.

Dark Imperium Set WIP - Do you love painting gold trim?

If you have ever played disc golf or golf, you may know how I feel here. I am speaking of when you throw the disc (or hit the ball) and you are pretty impressed, only to stand at your ball or disc and look back at the tee-off area to see that you did not throw it that far at all. That is how I feel this week about my painting.

I have been hard at work on assembling and painting my Dark Imperium set. I have spent about 6 hours this week painting, and the amount of time needed to paint all the trim with Balthasar Gold has exceeded my expectations.

Let's take a look:

Dark Imperium Review

Thoughts on the post-Indomitus Crusade World

I finished reading Dark Imperium by Guy Haley just a few days ago, and I wanted to share some thoughts that this book drew out for me, and of this new age for Warhammer 40,000.

If you have not had a chance to read the book, you can pick it up here at the Black Library. (link) I picked up the hardback on release day and was not disappointed.

Here are some thoughts about some particular topics within the book. I would love to know what you think - please comment below if you have a different take.

Iron Warriors Mk III Tactical Squad - Now more irony!

Notice the difference between the (new) more irony version and the darker (old) version on the right.

Steve here, and I wanted to show you an upgraded version of my Iron Warriors Tactical Squad (or veteran squad in Horus Heresy). I decided to lighten them up after some feedback across different sites. Here is a link to my original post (link).

I take comments and critiques to heart and decided to make a quick adjustment based off of feedback last week. I see this as a benefit that being part of the community provides.

Please let me know what you think!

Iron Warriors Tactical Squad Complete - Iron Within! Iron Without!

Let's take a look at some MK III Iron Warriors painted in a style found in the Golden D6 issue 6 (link). Surprisingly, this is the first time I EVER painted a tactical marine squad. Iron Within! Iron Without!

Slaanesh Subjugator Titan WIP - The Awesome Power of Excess

Steve here, with a post about a project that I have had on my plate for a long time - the Slaanesh Subjugator Titan! This is my first large-scale conversion project, other than my Snakebite Ork Cyber wyvern, which is a post for another day.

I plan on working on this model a lot during the summer and keep up with the progress here. In this post, I will introduce the model, the process I took to create it, and my inspiration. I hope you enjoy. Critiques and comments are very welcome.
