Iron Warriors Mk III Tactical Squad - Now more irony!

Notice the difference between the (new) more irony version and the darker (old) version on the right.

Steve here, and I wanted to show you an upgraded version of my Iron Warriors Tactical Squad (or veteran squad in Horus Heresy). I decided to lighten them up after some feedback across different sites. Here is a link to my original post (link).

I take comments and critiques to heart and decided to make a quick adjustment based off of feedback last week. I see this as a benefit that being part of the community provides.

Please let me know what you think!

Iron Warriors Tactical Squad Complete - Iron Within! Iron Without!

Let's take a look at some MK III Iron Warriors painted in a style found in the Golden D6 issue 6 (link). Surprisingly, this is the first time I EVER painted a tactical marine squad. Iron Within! Iron Without!

Slaanesh Subjugator Titan WIP - The Awesome Power of Excess

Steve here, with a post about a project that I have had on my plate for a long time - the Slaanesh Subjugator Titan! This is my first large-scale conversion project, other than my Snakebite Ork Cyber wyvern, which is a post for another day.

I plan on working on this model a lot during the summer and keep up with the progress here. In this post, I will introduce the model, the process I took to create it, and my inspiration. I hope you enjoy. Critiques and comments are very welcome.

Our most memorable hobby mistakes - A Legion Moritat Story

Steve here, with a fun start to the weekend by asking a fun question: What are some of your best hobby mistakes? This is a light-hearted post.

The premise here is that I was in the middle of destroying one of my new Legion Moritats that I bought from Forgeworld (link) and I grew nostalgic thinking about all of the models I have screwed up in the last year or so. Sad at the time, but fun to think about now.

Below are some of my recent failures, what are some of your recent hobby fails?

Change is coming! Herald on Burning Chariot Painted with guide

Steve here and all I can say about this model is finally! I forgot how long single models take to paint compared to squad level painting as easy as Horrors! The Burning Chariot marks the completion of three models that take me beyond my painting totals for 2016 - up to 49 models. I am very proud of that achievement.

I spent a lot of time on the Burning Chariot. I came away from it very pleased, save for a few parts that I could have agonized over for awhile - mainly the staff glow. I really loved the model and some of the neat challenges that it brought to the table. Let's take a look, and I will talk about how I approached different parts of it.

Ulantor is the pilot of the Red Doom, a famous Knight Paladin for House Taranis. Today, I wanted to showcase the model and tease a later set of posts about my Slaanesh Subjugator Titan.

Our community has a lot of enthusiasts that make this hobby better for all of us. These gamers and painters help us with forging the narrative, converting our armies and painting them.

I will keep a running list and summary of these allies in a button page link to the right on the site. Thank you for all that you do.

Today, I want to recognize Mengel Miniatures, a great site for reviews of Games Workshop background as well as amazing painting tutorials and miniature showcases.
